Quality
John Wood Photography has built a reputation that is based on quality and attention to detail at every step.
All photographs are initially taken using high quality Nikon professional digital cameras and captured as RAW files. These "digital negatives" are individually converted and adjusted where necessary to ensure that the best quality image is obtained.
Please note that all the images on this site have been compressed for web display and do not reflect the true quality of the final printed versions.
You can choose to have your prints made on either glossy or matt paper. The glossy media is resin-coated and has a UV protection layer to increase resistance to fading; the matt paper is also coated and is manufactured without the use of optical brighteners in order to give extra stability. For images that are going to be framed then I would recommend that you choose the matt paper option. I feel that the matt paper also gives a more timeless look too.
All images are printed in response to individual orders. For small format work (up to 10"x15") the paper used is FujiFilm Crystal Archive photographic paper which has fade resistance rated at 150 years.
For large format work, images are printed onto FujiFilm Professional digital photographic paper with a fade resistance of the prints also rated at 150 years.
Where requested, each print is carefully mounted on pH-neutral mountboard which has been treated to minimise the effect of atmospheric pollutants.
Finally, each print is checked again before being carefully packed for despatch.
I strongly recommend that you display your prints out of direct sunlight and behind glass or acrylic in a suitable frame to ensure longevity. A wide variety of frames are available to complement your prints at extra cost.
Any digital files or packages that are ordered are also supplied with a web ready version suitable for emailing to family or friends and posting to social media sites like Facebook.
John Wood Photography can also provide you with large format canvas prints and modern acrylic wall artwork to really show off your images to visitors to your home or business. A wide variety of options are available and will be discussed with you after your photo shoot.
