Portrait Session Information
Once you decide you would like to have photographs taken we will have a chat on the phone to discuss your specific requirements and any ideas you may have. I undertake family or individual portrait sessions and also offer maternity ‘bump to baby', ‘baby's first year' packages and boudoir photography.
Boudoir and maternity photography shoots are also now available - please follow the links to my dedicated Boudoir and Maternity photography sites.
Depending on the type of photo session you want, the photo shoot will take place in your home or, if the weather is nice, in your garden or even a local park. The photo shoot itself will last around an hour, is informal and very relaxed. I know that some people may be a little nervous if this is their first portrait session so I will do my best to help you relax and enjoy the experience. I also know that children can't just be told to sit still and smile for a camera so I will do all I can to make the portrait session a fun experience for them too.
I can also bring my studio to your home with a variety of portable backdrops and professional studio lighting equipment. If space really is at a premium, I can arrange to set up a studio in suitable venues at extra cost.
Around a week after taking the photos I will send you a link to your own dedicated, secure gallery page on the internet. This will let you review the photos and order the ones you like.
I offer a whole range of services, from individual prints – with or without mounts and frames, to your photos printed on canvas or mounted on stylish acrylic panels with a whole range of options in between. Packages of digital files are also available from which you can make your own prints / send via email to family or friends etc for your personal use. I also offer professionally constructed and bound photobooks which make great presents or just look great on your coffee table at home. Please email John Wood Photography for prices.
Where necessary, I can make minor cosmetic alterations to the final pictures such as removing scratches and the odd spot or blemishes using a range of leading image editing software packages. A range of effects can be added to your photos to really make them stand out even more. Rest assured that all your final images are carefully checked to ensure optimum quality and your satisfaction.
I am based around Watford, Hertfordshire and will generally travel within a 15-20 mile radius. I cover the home counties including Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedforshire and London. If you live further afield we may be able to come to some arrangement so please do still get in touch. Alternatively, why not have a day out in Watford and come and visit Cassiobury Park? This can be a really nice backdrop for a photo shoot with a wide variety of locations to photograph you in. As well as weekdays, I am available at weekends and evenings during the summer months (subject to good light etc) so I am happy to go with whatever day/time is the most suitable for you.
Obviously outdoor location photo shoots are quite weather dependent, so we will monitor the weather forecast and where necessary consider alternative venues or times for your portrait session if the forecast is poor.
